City of Vienna City Council met Feb. 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The City Council of the City of Vienna met in regular session at Vienna City Hall with the following members and guest: 

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS PRESENT: 

Steve Penrod, Mayor 

Angela Moore, Alderman 

Richard Owen, Alderman

Austin Tuey, Alderman 

Alan Racey, Alderman 

Ron Pitts, Alderman 

Shane Racey, Superintendent

 Aleatha Wright, City Clerk 

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS ABSENT: 

Melissa Hill, Alderman 

Jim Miller, Police Chief 

Michelle Meyers, Treasurer 

Brent Williams, Fire Chief

There being a quorum, Mayor Penrod called the meeting of the Vienna City Council to order at 6:30 p.m. 

NEW BUSINESS 

Alderman Owen made a motion to Authorize and Approve the Omnibus Consent Agenda consisting of the January 19, 2022 council meeting minutes and the warrant ($13,035.14). Alderman Moore seconded the motion. All in favor motion carried. 

Alderman Pitts made a motion to Authorize and Approve Ordinance 22-03, An Ordinance Amending Chapter 94 (Nuisances) of the Title IX Of the City Code. Alderman Racey seconded the motion. The vote was as follows: Hill-absent, Moore-yes, Owen-yes, Pitts-yes, Racey-yes, Tuey-yes. Motion carried. 

Alderman Tuey made a motion to Authorize and Approve an agreement between Little Egypt 

Shows and the City of Vienna for the Spring Fling event, May 12-14, 2022. Alderman Moore seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried. 

PUBLIC COMMENT 

Robert Smith was present to follow up with council on whether they would consider amending the current city ordinance to allow liquor sales on the square. Mayor Penrod and Alderman Owen both responded that no changes would be made at this time. 

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS 

Wright informed council that Arrowleaf would be moving their community event originally planned for April to Thursday, July 28, 2022. Wright said the park was available for the event. 

Alderman Moore discussed details of the community Easter egg hunt to take place Saturday, April 16th at the city park. 

Alderman Owen mentioned contacting Little Egypt Shows to see of their schedule would allow them to set up in September if the city decided to move the fall fest dates as discussed at the prior meeting. City council discussed the city planning/sponsoring the event. 

Penrod commented on the upcoming 146 East project, planned to begin in 2023. Penrod said he contacted the Illinois Department of Transportation concerning the relocation of city utility lines. Penrod said finalized drawings of the project would not be finished until August. Discussion was also had on roundabout designs. 

Penrod mentioned the public works department had located a stump grinder attachment for the skid steer. The item would be placed on the next agenda for purchase. 

As there was no further business to discuss, Alderman Tuey made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Alderman Moore. 

Mayor Penrod declared the meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
