State Representative candidate Jed Davis is slamming a local manufacturing company for making employees wear pins noting someone’s vaccine status.
“I’m appalled companies are creating modern day scarlett letter scenarios by having employees wear buttons advertising vaccination status. It’s flat out discrimination and these decisions belong in the privacy go an individual and their doctor, not for public display. This company should immediately cease these practices and a at a minimum they owe their employees a significant and sincere apology,” Davis told the Grundy Reporter.
Most businesses apparently disregard vaccine status.
The state moved to mask free on Feb. 28 and most school have followed suit after the Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s orders were overturned by the courts.
However, the company – MTH Pumps – has passed buttons out to employees which they are required to wear to note whether they are vaccinated or not.
It has also told employees that protocols will remain in place despite outside orders until positivity rates decrease in the region.
The Plano-based industrial manufacturing facility employees around 75 people in the area. Its main business is the production of industrial turbine pumps.
“The company is a closely held family owned business that has grown consistently over the years since its inception in 1965,” MTH Pumps notes.
The company was highlighted by Kendall County Economic Development on March 6, 2017 when several local politicians visited.
Davis is challenging State Rep. David Welter (R-Morris) in the 75th State House District.
Davis, of Newark, is the President of Parkview Christian Academy. He is notable for leading the charge at his school against against Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s unconstitutional mask mandates.
Davis previously said Welter offered no show of support for the school’s efforts to reverse the mask mandate.
The 75th House District includes all or portions of the counties of Grundy, Kendall, LaSalle and Will.
