States Attorney Helland left a message for the committee that he has been unsuccessful in filling the vacant Assistant position due to salary offered. He intend to give it another month; return to the committee for review of salary and/or job description. Assistant Russ Baker added that the office is in need of an assistant with experience, which will come with a salary comparable to the recently hired Assistant Public Defenders.
