Adult Anger Management Group

387

When: May 17, 2022  6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Anger is a human emotion which, in and of itself, is neither good nor bad. In fact there are times when anger is an appropriate response to a situation. However, anger becomes a problem when it lasts too long, becomes too intense, or in any number of ways seems to take control of our lives. MaineStay’s adult anger management program is an eight-week educational group designed to help individuals gain control over their anger. The program utilizes a research-based curriculum of cognitive-behavioral skills to help participants understand their anger and make behavior changes geared toward effectively managing their anger and will be led by Richard Lyon, MA, LCPC, CADC, CAMS-II, a certified anger management specialist. Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the group that can be used for court mandates.

This class is available only to residents of Maine Township. Participants must be 19 years of age or older. Only 10 spaces are available. The fee for the entire eight-week program is $40. A reduced fee is available with proof of need.

All participants will receive the expanded 133-page What’s Good About Anger? anger management workbook containing the best research-based strategies for transforming anger into healthy skills for living.

The next session will meet in-person or virtually depending on participant preference in the fall of 2022. Sign up for the fall session using our online sign up form.

For more information please contact Richard Lyon at rlyon@mainetown.com or 847-297-2510 x261.
