In a June 16 Facebook post, Rep. David Allen Welter (R-Morris) thanked constituents for attending a June 14 campaign event.

"I appreciate everyone that came out to my fundraiser on Tuesday. Even in this crazy hot weather we had a great turnout. Together, we will fire Pritzker and turn our state around," Welter posted on Facebook.

Welter announced his re-election bid in a tweet on March 7. "Today I filed for re-election to represent the 75th District of Illinois. #IL75 #GOP #Republican"

"I was the guest speaker at the Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon yesterday," Welter posted  May 11 on Facebook. "After giving an update on Springfield legislation, I was able to have a brief question-and-answer segment. Thank you to the Chamber for having me at this event and thanks to State Senator Sue Rezin for attending with me."

Welter has been critical of the Pritzker Administration's response to the COVID crisis at LaSalle Veterans Home. "The investigation's scope was so narrow it exempted the governor's office and (the Illinois Department of Public Health) from any scrutiny, failed to interview crucial witnesses and relied on hearsay and drew conclusions that proved counter to documents provided by IDVA officials," Welter said at a news conference. "The auditor-general's report stated the findings in the DHS OIG report did not provide a complete account of the response to the outbreak at the LaSalle Veterans' Home."
