Public Works Department Updates

Public Works Supervisor Jim Dunning stated fence and stone have been installed at the Village Hall. There was an issue at the sewer plant last week with a press overload. The Huber was torn apart, and the part needed will be delivered in 2 weeks. The parts for the well should be delivered after Memorial Day and will be installed by Layne. Once completed, the well will be in service again. The G.I.S. mapping is getting an upgrade to include lead and copper mapping locates in the reporting. Commissioner Kasher was concerned the locates on his street are incorrect. The original plans were for those dwellings to be duplex units therefore, the one b-box is not functional/dormant.

Commissioner Johnson

Commissioner Johnson stated crappie fish were floating on top of the pond behind his house. All other fish were still alive. He stated this should be reported. Johnson wants to make sure nothing bad is happening with the water in the pond since children in the neighborhood fish the pond. Commissioner Kasher said it could be an algae bloom which can become toxic to the fish. Johnson felt the HOA should be notified. Kasher suggested to Johnson to contact USDA in Morris about the pond/fish issue and if they are not the correct department, they could assist who/where to contact.
