The Morris Hospital Auxiliary will host its annual Golf Outing on Monday, September 26 at the Morris Country Club, 2615 U.S. Route 6 in Morris with all proceeds benefitting the Morris Hospital Patient Transportation and LifeLine® programs. Guests are invited to play golf, purchase dinner tickets, or participate in the helicopter golf ball drop for a chance to win a $1,000 cash prize.
Activities will begin with golfer check-in and lunch from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. At noon, golfers will head out on the links for 18 holes of golf. The cost for 18 holes of golf, lunch and dinner is $150 per person or $540 for a foursome.
Non-golfers are invited to support the event by purchasing tickets for a carry out dinner featuring pulled pork, roasted potatoes, coleslaw, corn, rolls and butter, and dessert. Dinner tickets are $25 per person with food available starting at 5 p.m. Depending on the Grundy County COVID risk level at the time of the outing, seating may be provided for those who choose to eat their meal at the Country Club. Updates will be posted on the hospital website and Facebook page.
Anyone can support the cause by purchasing a chance in the helicopter ball drop that will take place at 5:30 p.m. when Kendall Copters will drop approximately 200 numbered golf balls from the helicopter onto the fairway over hole 1. The person who purchases the ball that lands closest to or in the hole will win a $1,000 cash prize. One golf ball can be purchased for $20, three for $50, or seven for $100. Participants need not be present to win.
The Auxiliary Golfing Outing has been supporting the Patient Transportation and Lifeline services for over 20 years. The landmark Patient Transportation service has provided community members more than 240,000 trips to and from medical appointments. While the Patient Transportation service makes healthcare accessible to patients who may be unable to drive or have limited mobility, Lifeline® is an emergency response system that provides instant access to emergency assistance and peace-of-mind for individuals who live alone.
To date, Busey Bank, the Morris Hospital Medical Staff, Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service, and Narvick Brothers Lumber/Concrete General Contractors have committed to $5,000 “Top Flite” sponsorships. Eagle Sponsors contributing $2,500 to the event are Barclays, Block Electric Company, Cunningham, Meyer, & Vedrine P.C., Epic Group, Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP, and The Horton Group. Driver Sponsors at the $1,000 level are Creditors Discount & Audit Company, Hall Prangle & Schoonveld, LLC, Low Voltage Solutions, and US Bank.
In alignment with Morris Hospital’s commitment to keeping the community safe and well, the Auxiliary asks those who are planning to attend the event to monitor their health and refrain from attending in person should they develop symptoms or have a known exposure to COVID-19. In the event that the COVID pandemic poses an increased risk of gathering in person, alternate plans will be shared at www.morrishospital.org/golf.
