Village of Minooka Village Board met Aug. 23.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Village President, Ric Offerman, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Trustees present: Gabriela Martinez, Barry Thompson, Dennis Martin, Terry Houchens, Dick Parrish and Robin White. Also present: Dan Duffy-Village Administrator, John Harrington-Village Treasurer, Ryan Anderson-Superintendent of Public Works, Chief Justin Meyer, and Village Clerk-Orsola Evola.

Public Forum- Senator Sue Rezin was present to speak. She spoke about schools having challenges, ARPA money and the CARE Act. She will be in Minooka on October 5 and wanted to mention that Ridge Road looks good and she’s excited to see all that is going on in Minooka. There were no questions.

Bicycle Rodeo Award Presentation-Officer Presler presented award for 3 different age groups. They were present to receive awards and take pictures

Swearing in of Police Officers Grant Ooms and Thomas Lotarski-Chief Meyer gave an overview on both officers. They were then sworn in by Village Clerk Orsola Evola. Following their oaths was their pinning ceremony with family present.

Payroll Week Proclamation-President Offerman read the Proclamation for Payroll Week. No one else spoke during the Public Forum.
