In an Oct. 11 Facebook post, Rep. Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) acknowledged a visit from IMA and IMEC.

“Thank you to IMA and IMEC for making a stop at CSL Bering in the 79th District as part of Manufacturing Month, and a stop on your Makers on the Move bus tour," Haas posted. "I’m very proud to have a site right here in our district highlighted in your bus tour that will visit manufacturing facilities, colleges and high schools across Illinois to raise awareness about the exciting job opportunities and careers available in the manufacturing industry."

She included a link to the full schedule of stops.

The Makers on the Move tour started Oct. 7 and wrapped up on Oct. 14 in Springfield. According to its website,  "Makers on the Move is meant to show off high-tech, clean, diverse, and sustainable elements of modern manufacturing. The Makers on the Move bus tour will visit manufacturing facilities, colleges, and high schools across the state to highlight the innovative manufacturing sector and amazing job opportunities that are available today."

IMEC describes itself in this way: "IMEC is a team of improvement specialists and technicians dedicated to providing organizations in Illinois with the tools and techniques to create sustainable competitive futures. The experienced hands-on team at IMEC works closely with its clients to plan critical business improvements in the areas of Leadership, Strategy, Customer Engagement, Operations, and Workforce."

When the tour stopped in Chicago, there were several places the bus tour visited. The first was at Howe Corporation, the second took place at Eli’s Cheesecake.
