3. Operation Green Light Proclamation-Action

Ken Buck reported that with Operation Green Light launching nationwide, counties will literally shine green lights from their county buildings from Nov. 7-13 (Veterans Day is Nov. 11) to “send a clear message to inspire veterans to reach out to their county veteran service officers,”.

Ken Buck told the committee that his FY23 budget was adjusted to allow for the expenditure for an outreach program to help provide additional opportunities for veterans to learn about their benefits via newspapers, social media, websites and emails.

Mary Kucharz and Heidi Miller updated the committee on the need for an additional employee. Six months of salary has been budgeted for FY23 and the job description is in the works. No action taken.
