In AP Literature, students examine the complexity of characters and examine the characters' motivations closely.
They are almost like literary detectives! After reading a murder mystery, Mrs. Fritz's students created a suspect board using evidence from the story and what they know about the motivations of the characters to make a case against a character selected for them. Students had to collaborate, analyze text, and present to the rest of the class. Their suspect boards were something right out of a murder mystery movie - yarn connections and all!
