C. PayCourt Overview
Becky Jansen, presented PayCourt that is a government collection agency that contracts with IL counties to recoup fines owed by defendants found liable in the county courts. At no cost to the County, PayCourt adds 30% of the total as a collection fee as authorized by State Statute. Currently collection rate for Grundy County is 19.8%.

Mike Olowinski discussed the effect that the Pretrial Fairness Act will have on his office. The PFA abolishes cash bail and specifies procedures judges must use to impose pretrial detention. The added work load will present the need for another attorney and secretary; budget adjustments are being made.
