III. Public Recognition / Public Comments
Michelle Peterson spoke to the Board regarding the World Health Organization among other topics.
Dave DiVincenzo addressed the Board about the upcoming event, Santa Claus is Coming to Grundy County. This event has grown each year and is now a 501C3 non profit organization, who has partnered with Community Foundation of Grundy County. This non profit has now established a scholarship for future first responders. The Board was asked to consider donating funds to help support this program for the FY 2024 .

C. Review 2020 Resolution-Local Support for Federal Immigration Enforcement
1. Immigration Discussion
Discussion was held and the Board was told that this agenda item had previously gone before the Law and Justice Committee, with several Township officials present. There was a consensus at the committee meeting that the County and townships were on the same page, with the desire of being proactive regarding not accepting funding from either the State or Federal government for the housing of illegal immigrants.

County Administrator, Mary Kucharz addressed the Board regarding the new Assistant Public Defender Position. This position had been in a place hold over the last year, and had now had monies allocated for it in the FY2024 Budget. The State has also now given money to the counties to help offset some of the cost of this position.
