City of Vienna City Council met Feb. 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

The City Council of the City of Vienna met in regular session, Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Vienna City Hall with the following members and guest:

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS PRESENT:

Steven Penrod, Mayor

Ron Pitts, Alderman

Alan Racey, Alderman

Austin Tuey, Alderman

Tim Elliott, Alderman

There being a quorum, Mayor Penrod called the meeting of the Vienna City Council to order at 6:30 p.m.

NEW BUSINESS

Alderman Racey made a motion to Authorize and Approve the Omnibus Consent Agenda consisting of the January 17, 2024 meeting minutes and the Warrant ($61,283.81). Alderman Tuey seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

Julio Blanco, JCYL soccer coordinator, was present to request permission to construct and set a 15x60 backstop on the main soccer field as a safety precaution to keep soccer balls from going into the lagoon. Blanco requested to set four sponsor signs on the soccer fields and to install solar lights in the parking lot. Blanco also mentioned maintenance to the west side of the new field. Council was in general consent to approve requests.

Alderman Pitts made a motion to Authorization and Approval of Pay Estimate #5 for Rt 146- Watermain Relocation Project #22042 for $3,249.00 (General Funds) to S&W Line Contracting. Alderman Tuey seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

Alderman Racey made a motion to Authorization and Approval of Pay Estimate #3 for Rt 146- Sewer Main Relocation Project #22042 for $16,226.00 (General Funds) to S&W Line Contracting. Alderman Elliott seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

Alderman Pitts made a motion to Approve and Authorize Spring Fling Agreement between Little Egypt Shows and the City of Vienna- May 3-4, 2024. Alderman Tuey seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

Alderman Pitts made a motion to Authorize and Approve IDOT Agreement: Illinois Rt 146-Old 146 Loop-US 45. No. JN9-24-001. Alderman Racey seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

Alderman Tuey made a motion to Approve and Authorize Resolution 24-01, A Resolution Appropriating Motor Fuel Tax Funds in the amount of $13,000.00 for IDOT Agreement No. JN9- 24-001. Alderman Elliott seconded the motion. All present in favor, motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT - None

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS

Wright said the annual Brayden King Memorial baseball tournament was scheduled for June 8-9th.

Alderman Tuey discussed Fourth of July display costs with council. Tuey would try to obtain a quote by the next meeting.

Mayor Penrod mentioned a walk-through inspection scheduled the following day for the recent Delta Regional Authority Redbud Road resurfacing grant project.

Penrod discussed installation of an inclusive swing set to be installed at the west end of the city park. Modern Woodmen had donated funds to the city for the project.

As there was no further business to discuss, Alderman Pitts made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Alderman Racey. Mayor Penrod adjourned the meeting at 7:58 p.m.
