Grundy County Land Use Committee met July 24.

Michael Synowiecki, Georges & Synowiecki, spoke on behalf of Elizabeth Greeley, landowner of the property adjacent to the Green Heron Solar, LLC project. Green Heron Solar is requesting a renewal of a special use permit. Synowiecki stated that Green Heron's renewal request failed to satisfy the requirements stated in the Grundy County Code.

Linda Baker addressed the committee regarding her feelings toward the solar farm requests that were on the agenda.

4. Extension of Ordinance 2023-010 Green Heron Solar - Trajectory Energy Partners

The first motion made was to table the matter by Harold Vota, lack of second. Motion failed. The second motion made was to deny the extension by James Riley, seconded by Vota. After further discussion, Riley and Vota rescinded their motions. The third and final motion was to recommend the extension to the County Board for approval by Greene, seconded by Jenkins. Upon roll call, the motion carried.
