"Are you registered to vote in Illinois," said Meier, according to Facebook.
According to Meier's Facebook post, he shared a link to a report from NBC5 Chicago that explained how the Illinois State Board of Elections can assist individuals in checking their registration and locating polling places. The article explains that for those who are not registered to vote, there is a grace period voter registration that allows them to cast a ballot. The first step is to visit the county clerk’s office or polling place with same-day voter registration, after which voting can occur immediately.

NBC5 also reports that for those who want to check their registration online, register, or access the pamphlet for online registration, there is a website provided by the Illinois State Board of Elections. This website offers information on various topics, including voting systems, candidate filing and results, and campaign disclosure. To register to vote, individuals must be U.S. citizens aged 18 or older for consolidated or general elections or 17 at the time of registry if they will be 18 by election day. The grace period registration extends from the 27th day before an election through election day.
Illinois residents interested in learning about ballot drop box locations or finding their polling places can do so at the State Board of Elections website. Information about election results will also be posted there following the November 5 general election.
