"I’ve been selected to be a volunteer to decorate the White House this Christmas season. I put my application in and so then I put some of the things that I’ve won, so maybe that helped give me an edge on things, I’m not real sure," said Ahner during her interview.
The theme for this year's holiday decorations at the White House is "A Season of Peace and Light." According to a news release from the White House, hundreds of volunteers from across the country contribute to decorating both inside and outside. This year’s decorations include approximately 9,810 feet of ribbon, over 28,000 ornaments, 2,200 doves, and 83 Christmas trees.
