Norman D. Lutes | Ferrari Funeral Services - Coal City

Coal City, Illinois - Norman Dale Lutes, age 76, of Coal City, IL, passed away on Thursday morning, January 16, 2025, at his home. Born on July 18, 1948, in Newport, AR, to Clyde Lutes and Elsie (McSpadden) Latham, Norman served his country during the Vietnam Era in the United States Army. On May 4, 1981, he married Belinda J. Moore in Pontiac, IL, and together they raised their daughters. Norman retired in 2012 after 34 years as a Lead Maintenance Mechanic at Akzo Nobel, characterized by his love for helping family, neighbors, and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Belinda Lutes; daughters, Bryn (Rene` A. Garza) Lutes and Afton (Andy Vota) Lutes; grandchildren, Westin Serena, Wyleigh Serena, Monique Waddell, Kenneth R. Smith, and Kenneth E. Bannon III; great-grandchildren, Cadence Kent, Kash Smith, Kye Smith, Joseph Bannon, and Rhonda Bannon; sister, Becky (Dean) Haldorson; and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers, and sisters-in-law.

Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Rhonda Swanson; and brothers, Douglas Lutes and Troy Lutes (in infancy).

Cremation rites have been performed. A Memorial Visitation will take place from 2:00 PM until the time of the memorial service at 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Ferrari Funeral Service, 1044 Ferrari Drive, Coal City, IL 60416. Inurnment will be private at Braceville Gardner Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared online at www.ferrarifuneral.com.
