Kenneth R. Pfeifer, aged 97, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025, in Dwight. Born on February 5, 1927, in Mazon, Ken was the son of the late Marvin and Alma Pfeifer. His life exemplified the values of hard work, community service, and devotion to family.

Ken's upbringing on the family farm in Mazon informed his strong work ethic, a quality that defined his successful career as a farmer and as a self-owner operator of a school bus service for Mazon Schools. He returned to the family homestead in 1988, continuing the legacy of diligence and commitment to his community.

Active in various organizations, Ken was a dedicated member of Masonic Lodge #826 since 1953, involved with the Mohammed Shrine of Peoria, and the Morris Shrine Club. His service as a Trustee of the Village of Mazon for 24 years showcased his unwavering love and dedication to his hometown. Ken's faith played an essential role in his life, and he was devoted to the Mazon Methodist Church.

Ken will be deeply missed by his sons Greg, Allen (Laurie), Jim (Debra), and Dean (Martha) Pfeifer, as well as his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He shared a special bond with his companion Catherine Tucek, who predeceased him.

A visitation for Ken will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the UC Davis-Callahan Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Life service the following day officiated by Pastor Tyler Carrell. Interment will take place at Mazon Brookside Cemetery.
