State Senator Sue Rezin | Illinois General Assembly
State Senator Sue Rezin has announced the distribution of nearly $48,000 in state-funded library grants to public schools across her district. These grants are part of an annual initiative administered by the Illinois Secretary of State's office, designed to enhance school libraries serving students from kindergarten through grade 12.
Senator Rezin emphasized the significance of these grants, stating that they represent "an important investment in students’ education, helping school libraries provide the resources and technology needed to support learning and growth."
The funds are flexible in their application, allowing schools to purchase books, e-books, audiobooks, periodicals, multilingual materials, as well as updated technology and educational programs.
Several school districts within the 38th District have been selected to receive this funding. These districts include DeKalb CUSD 428, Grand Ridge CCSD 95, LaSalle-Peru Township High SD 120, Miller CCSD 210, Minooka CCSD 201, Morris Elementary SD 54, Saratoga CCSD 60C, Newark Community High SD 18, Newark Community School District 66, Oglesby Elementary School District 125, Oswego CUSD 308, Ottawa Elementary SD 141, Ottawa Township High SD 140, Peru Elementary School District 124, Plano CUSD 88, Sandwich CUSD 430, Seneca Township High SD 160, Serena CUSD 2, Somonauk CUSD 432, Hall High School District 502, Spring Valley CUSD 99, and Yorkville CUSD 115.
