City of Vienna City Council met April 2.

The City Council of the City of Vienna met in regular session, Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Vienna City Hall with the following members and guests:

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS PRESENT:

Steve Penrod, Mayor

Angela Moore, Alderman

Tim Elliott, Alderman

Ron Pitts, Alderman

Melissa Hill, Alderman

Alan Racey, Alderman

Austin Tuey, Alderman

Aleatha Wright, Clerk

Justin Hartline, Supt

There being a quorum, Mayor Penrod called the meeting of the Vienna City Council to order at 6:30 p.m.

NEW BUSINESS

Alderman Pitts made a motion to Authorize and Approve the Omnibus Consent Agenda consisting of the March 19, 2025 Meeting Minutes and the Warrant ($38,532.11). Alderman Tuey seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried.

Alderman Hill made a motion to Authorize and Approve Fourth of July fireworks quote: American Patriot Pyro, Inc.- $13,735.26 (General Funds/Tourism Funds). Show date-Thursday, July 3, Rain date-Sunday, July 6. Alderman Pitts seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENT

None

Mayor Penrod said an agreement had been reached with both VGS and VHS for their support on the Tax Increment Financing Extension of TIF #1. Penrod said currently the schools receive a total of 20%. An increase to 35% would begin in 2031 for the duration of the extension.

ELECTED/APPOINTED OFFICIALS

Clerk Wright shared that Shawnee Communications had selected Vienna for planting a free tree in honor of Earth Day. Wright said the tree would be planted inside the city park.

City Supt Hartline reported the replacement of tracks on a skid steer.

Penrod said an emergency management meeting was held by the county this afternoon to prepare for the expected storm and rain accumulation. Volunteers would be getting sandbags ready to place around several businesses near the 4-way.

As there was no further business to discuss, Alderman Racey made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Alderman Pitts. Mayor Penrod declared the meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
