State Senator Sue Rezin | Illinois General Assembly
Firefighters from various regions of Illinois gathered in Springfield on May 13 for the 32nd Annual Illinois Fallen Firefighter Memorial and Firefighter Medal of Honor Awards Ceremony. The event paid tribute to firefighters who lost their lives while serving.
The memorial service took place at the Firefighter Memorial, located on the grounds of the Illinois State Capitol. Following this, the Medal of Honor Ceremony was held at the Bank of Springfield Convention Center.
The ceremonies attracted numerous firefighters statewide to honor and remember those who devoted their lives to community protection. State Senator Sue Rezin remarked, "the event was a powerful reminder of the courage, selflessness, and dedication that these brave men and women demonstrate in their service to the people of Illinois."
