The Illinois Senate Republican Caucus will host its annual Veterans Day Wall of Honor display at the Statehouse from October 28 to November 13. The event allows families across Illinois to honor loved ones who have served in the military.

The memorial will include a large electronic display featuring veterans and their stories, as well as a wall where visitors can write notes of thanks.

State Senator Sue Rezin is asking friends and families to submit a photo and written story, up to 250 words, with information such as name, military branch, and conflict served. Military photos are preferred but not required.

"Please email submissions to veteransday@sgop.ilga.gov by October 24 to be included in the Veterans Day Display at the Illinois State Capitol. Submissions can also be mailed to Veterans Day Wall, 110 D Statehouse, Springfield, IL 62706. For questions, please call (217) 782-1154."

Rezin has represented the state's 38th Senate District since being elected in 2010, succeeding Gary G. Dahl.
