V. Health Department Programmatic & Operations Report 

1. Health Department Programmatic & Operations Report.

Administration: Tania Schwer, Public Health Administrator, updated the present board of health members on administrative programs and operations. T. Schwer reported the budget for the month of July. Two temporary employees will be brought on, assisting health department divisions. Job description review will take place in August and September for the administration team. Staff members will begin working on annual training to remain compliant with appropriate certification. Representatives from the Illinois Department of Public Health toured the health department and met present health department staff members. Fundraising options continue to be assessed to transition from the annual AnyBODY 5K race. T. Schwer has been working with the Grundy Transit System on the current route assistance program for clients.

Nursing: Tania Schwer, Public Health Administrator, updated the present board of health members on nursing programs and operations. Back to school immunizations continue. July has always fostered an increase in student immunizations during the summer months. Fall flu clinics are current being scheduled in the community. The health department will have flu vaccines available for eligible children and adults. A flu vaccine shipment is expected at the end of August. Stacy McCarthy, Nutritionist, has completed Choices training to assist the Senior Division with screenings. Hearing and Vision screenings are scheduled with local preschools and daycares. Fall and Spring seasons are the busiest time of year for hearing and vision appointments. A current member of the nursing staff has been assisting with screenings.

Environmental Health: The division has welcomed one new food establishment: Brick and Ivy Coffee Co. in Channahon. Gigi's Clothing Boutique in Morris will be adding a bar area to their current location. McDonalds in Morris will be going through a remodel. On October 9th, the division will be hosting a ServSafe food course to registered community members. The last ServSafe class in July had 10 attendees, with 8 attendees passing the class.

Senior Programs: Kasie Livingston, Director of Senior Programs, updated the present board of health members on senior division programs and operations. The division welcomed two new team members: Amber Naser and Jacob Ramos. In August, the new team members will be attending a training hosted by the Illinois Department on Aging. K. Livingston attended the Senator Rezin Senior Health Fair were she was able to network and speak about health department services to those in attendance.

Finance, Operations and Compliance: Tamra Peppler, Director of Finance, Compliance and Operations, updated the present board of health members on health department programs and operations. Planning efforts have begun to satisfy upcoming audit requirements. Workbooks pertaining to FY 2025 are being balanced and closed out to begin the new fiscal year for various department grants. Procedures and operations are currently being updated for the front desk area.

At 7:02pm, the Board of Health went into Executive Session for the purpose of discussing Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) matters on a motion made by Board of Health member Joyce and seconded by Board of Health member Ulivi. On a roll call vote, said motion prevailed by the following vote: Ayes: Joyce, Harrop, Marketti, Menz, Rasmusson, Ulivi

Nays: None

Absent: None

Excused: Howd, Struck.

At 7:29pm, the Board of Health conducted a motion to exit executive session and enter back into open session on a motion made by Board of Health member Joyce and seconded by Board of Health member Menz. On a roll call vote, said motion prevailed by the following vote:
