In the week ending Feb. 28, two gas stations in Grundy County sold regular gas at the lowest reported price of $2.77 per gallon, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
Countywide, regular gas averaged $2.87 per gallon.
Among 31 gas stations in cities within Grundy County, 21 offered regular gas.
The average reported price for a gallon of regular gas in Illinois was $2.98, up from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
