Village of Coal City Strategic Planning met March 1.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

At 4:25 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, Mayor Terry Hallday called to order the Strategic Planning Session at tangled Roots Brewery, 812 LaSalle Street, Ottawa, Illinois. Roll Call-Trustees Tim Bradley and Sarah Beach. Also in attendance was Matt Fritz, village administrator, Sgt.'s Tom Logan and Chris Harseim, Kristi Wickiser, Village Treasurer and Richard Malone, building and Zoning official. (A complete list of attendees is attached)

The strategic Planning Session was conducted by Greg Kuhn, Molly Hall and Jeanne Ballard from the Center of Governmental Studies at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois. Following introductions, everyone present introduced themselves. The session went follows:

•Each attendee was given the opportunity to express their ideas and wants for the future of Coal City.

•The results of the gathering survey were presented

•Conducted an exercise on everyone’s personal vision of Coal City in the future

•S.W.O.T. (Strength, Weaknesses, Threats, Opportunity)

At 8:30 p.m., Mayor Halliday officially closed the session
