Minooka Elementary School District 201 Board of Education met February 26.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

1.Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m. by President James Satorius. Roll call was answered as indicated. Others present were: Kris Monn, Joshua Ruland, Allison Selk, Kevin Smith, Aaron Souza, Colby Lewis, Minooka Chief of Police Justin Meyer and Lori Shanholtzer.

2. Public Comment

None

3. Review of the Agenda

3.01 Personnel - Dr. Monn went over the personnel report with the Board.

3.02 Notice of FOIA Request - There were five FOIA requests received this month. Information regarding the FOIA requests can be seen on the electronic board packet.

3.03 Board Policy 5:185 Family and Medical Leave - Dr. Monn shared the second reading of Board Policy 5:185 Family and Medical Leave. No changes were made to the first reading.

3.04 Purchase of new equipment for the Buildings and Grounds Department - Dr Monn shared with the Board the proposal from Kevin Smith regarding purchase of new building and grounds equipment. There are as follows:

1. Replacement of Cafeteria Tables at Minooka Elementary School - $49,374 -Current equipment is beyond its useful life cycle and has become a hazard for staff to handle. Replacement tables have been located through the National Joint Purchasing Alliance, which is a nationally competitive bidding alliance.

2. Two (2) 2018 Ford S250 Trucks with Plow attachments - $38,141 each, total of $76,282 - The expansion of the Maintenance staff over the past two years require additional vehicles. In addition, our current mail truck is quickly becoming more expensive to maintain than is financially prudent.

3. New cleaning equipment - Two rider scrubbing units at $11,732 each, 2 walk behind scrubbing units for $5,356 each, and 2 orbital floor machines for $2,502.65 each - total of $39,181.

3.05 Disposal/Recycling of Technology Equipment - Aaron Souza (Director of IT) provided a list of Technology Equipment that will be disposed/recycled.

3.06 Disposal of Buses - Cathy Haase (Transportation Director) provided a list of two buses that will be disposed of.

3.07 Approval of Design Updates for Proposed 5th-8th Grade Building - Colby Lewis from STR Architects presented to the Board the design updates for the proposed 5th-8th grade building. Documents for this proposal can be viewed on the electronic board packet.

3.08 Network Infrastructure Upgrade - Aaron Souza (Director IT) provided the Board a copy of his proposal of the Network Infrastructure Upgrade. The initial cost would be $49,869 and after the ERATE reimbursement it will bring the cost down to $25,000. The locations that this upgrade will cover are Minooka Intermediate, Aux Sable, Minooka Primary, Walnut Trails and Jones Elementary.

3.09 Approval of Three Year License Agreement with PowerSchool Student Information System - Dr. Ruland shared a presentation on the three year license agreement with PowerSchool that he is recommending to replace Teacherease. The costs would be for 2017-18 $51,938, 2018-19 $76,665 and 2019-20 $71,431.
