Report: South Wilmington spent $8,211 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at South Wilmington Community Consolidated School District 74 is down 2 percent from five years ago, according to a Grundy Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Grundy County school district spent $8,343 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,211 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 100 to 94.

South Wilmington's spending in 2016-17 was 37 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
