Mazon-Verona-Kinsman Elementary School District 2C issued the following announcement on Sept. 18.
The MVK Mavericks earned a regional championship with a 7 to 0 victory over a very good Streator Woodland team that entered the game with only 1 loss on the season. Casey Clennon hurled a 1 hitter with 1 walk and 2 strike outs. Bryce Roe added a 3 run triple and Brett Marques collected 2 hits and a run scored. The Mavericks played errorless ball during the tournament. MVK now (13-4) travels to sectional play this Saturday in Saunemin at 11 am vs an undefeated Ottawa Marquette team.
