Coal City Community Unit School District 1 issued the following announcement on Oct. 3.
Whales use blubber to help their bodies maintain heat.
In Science, we found out for ourselves just how blubber helps in icy conditions. Students exposed bare skin in ice water and then in a glove with "blubber." Students were amazed at how well it insulated.
