MAZON-VERONA-KINSMAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT 2C: Nonfiction Reading

Book

Mazon-Verona-Kinsman Elementary School District 2C issued the following announcement on Nov. 30.

As students progress through the Middle School, our curriculum exposes students to more nonfiction reading materials. When the Common Core Standards replaced the Illinois State Standards, there was an emphasis on nonfiction text. This shift in reading materials helps prepare students for high school, college, and their careers. Our school library offers several options of nonfiction reading materials. Encouraging your child to find something to read that they are interested in will help engage students in nonfiction texts. Another way to improve reading engagement is by exposing your child to newspaper articles and magazines of their interest.
