Report: Coal City spent $13,359 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Coal City Community Unit School District 1 is up 2.8 percent from five years ago, according to a Grundy Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Grundy County school district spent $12,991 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $13,359 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 2124 to 2230.

Coal City's spending in 2017-18 was 0.2 percent higher than the state average of $13,337.
