City of Galesburg Tree Commission met Jan. 14.

Roll Call: Present: Members: Ann Pennington, Millie Allen, Jake Morgan, Pat Trant and
Director of Parks & Recreation, Tony Oligney-Estill
Absent: City Arborist-Ryan Creek
Minutes of December 10, 2018 where approved.
Arborist Report:
• No report was given at this meeting.
Old Business:
• Old Business: Park and Recreation Master Plan is anticipated to go to City Council for its first reading on January 22. If this happens, the second reading would occur on February 4 for its adoption. A parks and recreation master plan must be current and adopted by governing body for it to count toward OSLAD grant funding. Without a currently adopted master plan, an agency would not qualify for OSLAD grant funding.
• Knox College has decided to be a part of the tree inventory. Tony has updated the RFP for the tree inventory and should be released to the public in the next week or so.
New Business:
• Welcome to the newest Tree Commission Member, Pat Trant.
• Pat asked if Ryan Creek would look into a tree trunk that is on Erwin. The tree was taken down by City staff except for the tree trunk. Pat would like to know when the trunk is going to be removed.
