Illinois Education Association Minooka Region issued the following announcement on July 8.
All new teacher evaluators in Illinois will need to pass an ISBE-approved administrator academy on the topic of Initial Teacher Evaluation Training. This training replaces the existing initial teacher evaluation training provided through Growth through Learning CEC and TeachScape that expired on December 31, 2018. This training is a high quality, scalable, sustainable, and user-focused content and delivery model. This training aligns to the Illinois School Code competencies defined by Administrative Code Part 50, Section 50.420 (a-b).

Identify and disseminate minimum state requirements, performance standards and best practices
Facilitate a common language and dialogue around performance and its impact on school improvement, professional practice, and student outcomes
Encourage collaboration, learning, and alignment among stakeholders

Dates: July 16-17, 2019
