Rep. Lindsay Parkhurst has spoken out on the stay-at-home order for Illinois.

Parkhurst took to Facebook on March 20 to share her thoughts and encourage her constituents amidst the international pandemic.

“Times are tough, but Americans are tougher,” she wrote on the social media platform. “We will survive, but we have challenging times ahead. Stay safe. Stay home. Let’s flatten the curve and protect our state.”

Rep. Lindsay Parkhurst encourages residents to heed the stay-at-home order to fight coronavirus.

She also provided a graph of how staying home can flatten the curve and a link to the Illinois state website that provides more information on the stay-at-home order that was extended through April 30.

The order backs the nationwide mandate to not just stay at home, but practice social distancing when out and about, and for those who have essential jobs to also take extra precaution.

Leaving the home is acceptable for only essential reasons.

The elderly are also advised to take extra precautions.
