Illinois State Senate Committee on Committees met March 24.

Absent: Rummana Alam, Jared Bastian, Tim Flanagin
A regular meeting of the Senate Committee on Committees (CC) was called to order at 12:30pm with Chair Span presiding.
I. INTRODUCTIONS
No introductions were made.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the January 30, 2020 and the February 13, 2020 meetings were approved as distributed.
III. PUBLIC COMMENT
No requests received.
IV. CHAIR’S REMARKS
Chair Span welcomed everyone to CC’s first virtual meeting.
V. NEW BUSINESS
Annual Committee Vacancies
Chair Span invited Roether to give an overview of how the annual committee vacancies have been handled in the past. After Roether’s overview, CC further discussed strategies to fill the annual vacancies.
Chair Span urged CC members to think about the best people to fill the annual vacancies. Span will send an email assigning Senate committees to each member so CC members can begin compiling suggestions for filling the annual vacancies from internal documents indicating interest in serving. Suggestions will be shared with CC at its next meeting.
