Executive Director Sherry Zerbian said there are certain guidelines Grundy Transit System passengers will have to follow in order to stay safe.

Zerbian told WCSJ that as a way to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other germs, bus rides will be free for the time being.

"It helps us because nobody has to take money," she said. "Money is, of course, a good way to carry germs and it will also help the people that are riding the bus, because everybody is probably going to have some sort of a financial blow-back from all of this."

The buses will also be regularly cleaned, she told WCSJ.

"They'll go through and wipe the bus down," Zerbian said. "We will probably also in that time ask people, if they can, to please wear a mask, or a scarf or a bandanna over their nose and mouth when they're riding."

Zerbian also told WCSJ all bus drivers will have Clorox wipes and Lysol spray to ensure their buses are kept clean.
