George Gray reported that at 36% through FY20 General Fund revenues are at 31%, expenditures 29%.

VI. New Business

A. Discussion of Property Tax Payments/Delay of Penalties

Matt Melvin told the committee that the Assessor and Board of Review plan to have the final abstract mailed to the State by April 29th, multiplier from the State by May 8th. County Clerk plans to complete tax extensions and provide to Treasurer by June 5th, tax bills mailed by June 29th with installments dates of July 29th and September 29th. These are all tentative dates.

Melvin also mentioned the waiver of property tax penalties on the 1st installments. Discussion was held.

B. COVID-19 Financial Discussion

Matt Melvin discussed some of the expected short-term financial impact of COVID-19 to Grundy County. Short term reductions to revenues are anticipated; long term impact will be determined by the length of the shelter-in-place order. Department Heads were asked to make an effort to reduce costs where possible.

C. Salary Range for Supervisor of Assessment Job Description

Mary Kucharz stated that the current contract for the Assessor will expire in June and an updated job description, including salary range, is being worked on. She proposed a salary range of between $80,000 and $90,000; current salary is $84,800. The updated job description will be presented to the Ed/Personnel Committee on April 16th.
