Illinois State University Senate Committee on Committees met April 2.

Present: Chair Chris Span, Jared Bastian, Laura Christianson, Tim Flanagin, Laura Garrett, Ane Icardo Isasa, Jennifer Monson
Ex officio: Jenny Roether
Absent: Rummana Alam, Deniz Namik
A regular meeting of the Senate Committee on Committees (CC) was called to order at 2:00pm with Chair Span presiding.
I. INTRODUCTIONS
No introductions were made.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the March 24, 2020 meeting were approved as distributed.
III. PUBLIC COMMENT
No requests received.
IV. CHAIR’S REMARKS
Chair Span led the committee in singing We’ll Meet Again by Vera Lynn.
V. OLD BUSINESS
CC.21.02, Election of the Senate Executive Committee (SEC) Chair Span will contact the current SEC Chair, Rob Kar, to inquire if he is interested in running for the position of SEC Chair again.
CC.21.03, Election of the Senate Executive Committee (SEC) Vice-Chair
Span will contact the current SEC Vice-Chair, John Dallesasse, to inquire if he is interested in running for the position of SEC Vice-Chair again.
CC.21.04, Election of Members to the University Senates Conference (USC) Roether noted that any nominees must be senators.
CC.21.05, Election of Members on Standing Committees of the Senate and Senate Representatives to Other Bodies
The following assignments were made after the previous meeting:
Alum/Namik—Academic Freedom and Tenure, Admissions, Budget, Campus Operations
Christianson/Bastian—Conference on Conduct Governance, Educational Policy, Elections and Credentials, Equal Opportunity and Inclusion
Monson/Icardo Isasa—Faculty and Academic Staff Benefits, General University Policy, Honorary Degrees, Information Technology
Garrett/Flannigan—Library, Public Engagement and Outreach, Student Discipline, University Statutes and Senate Procedures
Span/Roether—University Student Life, Military Education Council, Faculty Advisory Council to the Board of Higher Education
CC will continue to contact suggested nominees for willingness to serve if elected.
CC.21.06, Election of Committee Chairs on Standing Committees of the Senate Committee Chair nominations will be discussed once more work has been completed on CC.21.05.
CC.21.07, Election of Committee Chairs to the Senate Executive Committee (SEC)
No discussion.
CC.21.08, Faculty Nominations to the Joint Committee on Investment, Licensing, and Naming Rights
No discussion.
