VII. New Business

A. Challenge to All Elected Officials/Dept. Heads to Reduce Costs During 2020 Year

A discussion was held regarding the request for department heads/elected officials to continue to reduce spending in an effort to prevent layoffs/furlougs.

B. Potential Revenue Reduction Due to COVID

Matt Melvin stated that it is too soon to determine the effects of COVID-19 on the county's revenues due to the unknowns about the Stay at Home order.

C. Update on Grundy County Tax Bill Cycle

There have been no changes from the timeline discussed previously.

D. Review Five Year Capital Plan

George Gray told the committee that the sheriff's office project has been awarded and bids are underway for the courthouse roof project.

E. 2021 Budget Planning Cycle

Matt Melvin stated that the previously presented timeline will be unchanged. Department Heads continue to track COVID specific expenditures including payroll for reimbursement.

F. Discussion on Waiving Penalties/Fees on First Installment of Tax Bill

1. Motion to keep the current policy, penalties and fees apply.
