Illinois State Senate Committee on Educational Policy met April 8.

Present: Chair Eric Meyer, Justin Aronoff, Isaac Cann, Tim Flanagin, Aaron Godwin, Richard Layton, Steve Michael, Nolan Miller, Linda Moorhouse, Jennifer Pahre, Hilary Pham, David Rivier, Craig Zilles

Ex officio: Michel Bellini, John Hart, Dan Mann, Kathy Martensen

Absent: Maria Bonn, Jim Shriner, Suzanne Lee (ex officio)

A resumed meeting from April 6, 2020 of the Senate Committee on Educational Policy was called to order at 1:30 p.m. with Chair Meyer presiding.

I. INTRODUCTIONS

No introductions were done.

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

No minutes were approved at this meeting.

III. PUBLIC COMMENT

No requests received.

IV. CHAIR’S REMARKS

Chair Meyer thanked everyone for being able to reconvene to finish EP.20.160.

No updates were given.

No updates were given.

VI. OLD BUSINESS

SUBCOMMITTEE A (Michael)

• EP.20.160, Approval Process for the Establishment of Online Delivery Mode of Instruction to Existing, On-Campus Graduate Degree Programs

The committee reconvened the meeting from April 6, 2020 to finish working on this proposal. After discussion, a motion was made to adopt the changes with any editorial changes to be sent to Lehman by 8:00pm and the final document will be forward to the Graduate College. The motion was seconded and approved. The chair also was instructed to relay to the Senate Executive Committee concerns members had about competition for resources to support remotely taught courses and create new online courses.

VII. ADJOURNMENT

The meeting was adjourned at 3:15 pm.
