Q3 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Grundy County?

There were 11 offenders released on parole during the third quarter of 2019 that live in Grundy County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Grundy Reporter.

The data shows that 10 men and one woman were released in Grundy County. The median age of the parolees was 41. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2018, and the oldest was a 60-year-old woman sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Christopher A. Schmidt. He was convicted of a property crime in 2013 when he was 31 years old. He is now 38.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the third quarter of 2019 in each Grundy County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
