Chanooka Braves Football issued the following announcement on July 31.
I want to give everyone an update on the status of the 2020 Braves Football and Cheer season.
After much discussion within the Illinois 8 Youth Tackle Football League and exploring all of the options we had, it is with a heavy heart that we have to cancel the 2020 football and cheer season.
The main factors leading to this decision include the recent postponement of the IHSA fall seasons and the cancellation of the IESA fall season, which prevent the majority of teams in the league to have practice and game facilities. This coupled with the uncertainty of how COVID-19 can be controlled and the high level of personal contact that is involved with football makes it difficult to in good faith move forward with a season.
The Braves will be issuing full refunds for all registrations paid to date.
