University of Illinois System Senate Committee on Public Engagement and Outreach met Sept. 11.

I. CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Senate Committee on Public Engagement and Outreach (PE) was called to order at 10:00 am with Chair Christensen presiding.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the April 28, 2020 meeting were approved as distributed by roll call vote.

No: None
Abstain: Christensen
III. PUBLIC COMMENT
No requests received.
IV. CHAIR’S REMARKS
Chair Christensen welcomed everyone to the start of the semester and shared that there will be four meetings this semester. Chair Christensen shared that Michelle Gonzales (Senior Assistant for Strategic Initiatives in Public Engagement) and Kandace Turner (Associate Director of Public Engagement) will meet with the committee in October and Eva Pomerantz (Provost Fellow, Office of the Provost) will meet with the committee in November.

Topic of Discussion
Seiler shared that Extension & Public Engagement Connection Center is accepting Request for Proposals for the 2002 Extension Collaboration Grants. Proposals can be submitted at the following link: https://extension.illinois.edu/connection/2020- extension-collaboration-grants-request-proposals. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 5:00pm.
