University of Illinois System Senate Committee on Committees met Sept. 16.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Present: Chair Chaya Sandler, Creen Ahmad, John Dallesasse, Abby Fogarty, Jeffrey Eric Jenkins

Ex officio: Jenny Roether

Absent: Rummana Alam, Laura Christianson, Laura Garrett, Sudarshana Rao

I. CALL TO ORDER

A regular meeting of the Senate Committee on Committees (CC) was called to order at 1:09 pm by Chair Sandler.

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

The minutes of the August 24, 2020 meeting were approved as distributed by roll call vote.

Yes: Ahmad, Fogarty, Jenkins, Sandler

No: None

Abstain: Dallesasse

III. PUBLIC COMMENT

No requests received.

IV. CHAIR’S REMARKS

Chair Sandler noted that the main order of business would be filling as many committee vacancies as possible that are listed on CC.21.10.

V. OLD BUSINESS

CC.21.10, Election of Members on Standing Committees of the Senate

Roether reported that several senators had responded to the call for interest in serving on the specific committees with vacancies. Committee members discussed and selected nominees from submitted interest. Any outstanding vacancies will carry forward to the next meeting.

A motion was made to submit the selected nominees to fill committee vacancies for approval at the September 21, 2020 Senate meeting. The motion was seconded, and no discussion followed. The motion was approved by roll call vote.

Abstain: None

Alam will present CC.21.10 to the Senate on behalf of CC on September 21, 2020. Determine meeting dates and times for Committee on Committees meetings Committee members discussed schedules, but no meeting dates were selected.
