Dresden Nuclear Power Station, Unit 2 issued the following announcement on Nov. 26.
The NRC has selected Andrew Patz as the new senior resident
inspector at the Waterford nuclear power plant in Killona, La.
Patz joined the NRC in 2015 in the Office of Nuclear Reactor
Regulation at the agency’s headquarters in Rockville, Md, and served as
the resident inspector at the Harris nuclear power plant in New Hill, N.C.
He worked as system engineer and emergency response specialist at the
Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, N.Y. Patz holds a
bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University.
Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors.
Patz joins resident inspector Arthur Childs. They serve as the agency’s eyes and ears at the facility,
conducting inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers
and the public.
