The Minooka governing body took another step toward creating an assisted living and memory care facility.
The Committee of the Whole discussed the property during a December meeting that required public participation on Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The agenda listed an amendment agreement with Ethan Properties, which is conducting the project, WCSJNews.com reported. It will occupy 32.89 acres located at U.S. Route 6 and Waters Edge Drive.
Should the committee move forward with the amended agreement, the facility would have the capability to serve more residents in the Illinois community, WCSJNews.com reported.
The original agreement called for 40 units, however, the expansion seeks 60 units, WCSJNews.com reported. Ethan Properties would construct 92 parking stalls for the facility.
A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled to take place by April 2021. A was scheduled to take place just before the start of 2021, according to the village website.
