Report: Coal City School District spent $13,755 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Coal City Community Unit School District 1 was up 3.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Grundy Reporter analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Grundy County school district spent $13,258 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $13,755 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 2,119 to 2,175 students over the same period.

Coal City's spending in 2019-20 was 5.1 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
