The scheduled meeting of the Diamond Village Board was held at 6:00 p.m. with Mayor Teresa “Terry” Kernc presiding. Upon roll call Commissioners present were Dean Johnson, and Dave Warner. Absent: Mark Adair and Jeff Kasher.
Approval of 04-26-2022 Minutes
MOTION was made by Commissioner Johnson, SECOND by Commissioner Warner to approve the 04/26/2022 regular meeting minutes and place on file. All Ayes: Motion Carried.
Approval of May 10, 2022, Bill List
MOTION was made by Commissioner Johnson, SECOND by Commissioner Warner to approve the May 10, 2022, bill list and place on file. All Ayes: Motion Carried.
Approve the April 2022 Treasurer’s Report
MOTION was made by Commissioner Warner, SECOND by Commissioner Johnson to approve the April 2022 Treasurer’s Report and place on file. All Ayes: Motion Carried.

Reappoint Craig VanDuyne as Chairperson of the Planning & Zoning Committee Expiring April 20, 2023
MOTION was made by Commissioner Warner, SECOND by Commissioner Johnson to Reappoint Craig VanDuyne as Chairperson of the Planning & Zoning Committee Expiring April 20, 2023. All Ayes: Motion Carried.
310 N. School Street
Village Clerk Lori Holmes stated this dwelling was being sold. Owner D. Cueller, stated a neighborhood child broke the outside faucet while the house was vacant. Since the outside faucet leaked as groundwater, a sewer credit request of $74.74 is being presented for approval. MOTION was made by Commissioner Warner, SECOND by Commissioner Johnson to approve a credit/check to Cueller in the amount of $74.74. All Ayes: Motion Carried.

Grundy and Will County Sheriff’s Monthly Update
Mayor Kernc presented the Will County Report. The report from Grundy County is emailed to her. Kernc stated there was nothing out of the ordinary for either Will or Grundy County Sheriff’s reports for the month.

Public Works Department Updates
Public Works Supervisor Jim Dunning stated the raw pump and VFD have been ordered for the sewer plant. A class will be held this summer for VFD training. Dunning stated a call from the EPA was received inquiring about Well #2. If it is an abandoned well, it must follow the protocol for abandonment. Mayor Kernc stated the Illinois State Water Survey was to utilize it for testing. She will contact them to verify it they are going to use it. If they are not, then the village will proceed with abandonment procedures. Dunning stated restoration along Berta Road will begin tomorrow. A buffalo box repair was being completed on Stellon St. today and it was determined the leak was not at the buffalo box but on the owner’s side of the service line.
Clerk Updates
Village Clerk Lori Holmes stated her, and Treasurer Wendy Herbert are preparing and submitting necessary documents to the auditors for the upcoming June 1, 2022, village audit.
