DEPARTMENT UPDATES

⮚ Director Rosen provided a variety of updates. The KRC pool heater has been ordered but unsure of delivery. Asked if the commission members knew anyone interested in mowing grass because of a shortage of help. Outdoor Pool is being filled this week and there is a larger deck space because the toddler pool has been filled in and concrete was added.

OLD BUSINESS

⮚ Pool Discussion – Director Rosen gave a brief update on the status of the pool. He said it’s in limbo now because of chatter and possibility of it going on the site where the Primary School is now since the school wants to build a new facility elsewhere.

NEW BUSINESS

⮚ Hoffman Park Playground – Letters have been sent to many businesses in the area of the park as well as some other corporations in the general area. Rosen is going to hold off on sending letters to civic organizations until he sees what can be raised with the letters.

⮚ Vendors – special events – With more events possible and requests from outside vendors, Rosen is seeking recommendations for a reasonable fee to ask for. For example; do we charge a flat rate and then anything over a certain amount, the department gets a percentage?

⮚ July 4th Fireworks – Rosen reported that a band; Ben Wah Bob will be playing from 5:00- 8:30pm with food and drinks in front of the KRC. Ending at 8:30 will give people a chance to disperse to places throughout the park or leave to watch the fireworks from their desired destination.

With no further business to discuss, a motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 7:30pm.
